Verona's sire Flemmingh is one of the most highly respected dressage sires in Holland. He is, for example, the sire of the approved stallion Krack C, ridden in 2002 to victory in the Grand Prix of Moscow by Anky van Grunsven. Flemmingh to date has five approved sons, and had six sons at the 2002 stallion selections in Holland, second only to Olympic Ferro. Based on the performance of his offspring, in 2002 Flemmingh was awarded the "Keur" predicate given to less than 10% of all KWPN stallions. At the February 2003 stallion selections in s'Hertogenbosch, the most impressive group of young stallions were the offspring of Flemmingh. All four of the Flemmingh sons, and eight of the nine Krack C sons, were forwarded to the third ring. The overall Champion of the stallion show was Tornado, a spectacular Flemmingh stallion out of a Ramiro mare.

Flemmingh's sire Lacapo is by the Holsteiner extraordinaire, Landgraf. His dam, Texas, is the dam of three other approved stallions in Holstein, including the Holstein Champion Litorio. Flemmingh himself is the sire of many champions, including Kreta, the Benelux champion filly, and a number of UTV champion and reserve champion mares. Flemmingh's 2001 dressage index was 146, near the top of all KWPN stallions.

Like her sire, Verona's dam Larole is also predicated "Keur" and also jumped at "Z" level in Holland, earning her the coveted "Sport" award for performance. She is one of only a handful of mares in the United States to have earned this award. Verona's mare line is comprised of no less than four generations of "Keur" and "Keur Preferent" mares.

The Dutch Stallion Committee jury member Hans Horn recently remarked in an interview, "The best dressage horses come from jumper lines." We believe this will be the case with Verona. She is an elegant mover, with a fine balanced canter and roomy, effortless trot. She should mature to 16'3'' or so, much like her five year old sister Parole by Olympic Ahorn. Flemmingh offspring are noted for their beautiful long lines and eagerness to please, and we already see this in Verona. Verona has been under saddle for almost a year, and received a 71.5% score at Training Level 2 at her first show (the High Point award for this show.) She shows expressive gaits (a score of "8" at the show), she is a willing worker, and she is not easily distracted. Best of all, she listens attentively to the rider. She is priced in Category C.
