Garole is by the Preferent KWPN stallion Voltaire, out of the Preferent dam Carole, who in turn is by the Preferent KWPN stallion G. Ramiro Z. Thus, she combines the finest breeding to be offered by the KWPN.

Voltaire jumped at the highest international standards in 1.50 meter classes in Calgary, Stockholm, Lanaken, Helsinki and Wiesbaden, capping his career in 1989 by winning the Grand Prix of Berlin. Voltaire was the sire of more competitors at the Olympics in Atlanta than any other stallion, and currently stands eighth on the WBFSH list of showjumping sires. He is the sire of Gunther Seidel's Foltaire in the dressage ring, and is the sire of over 50 approved stallions worldwide. He was also USA Eq.'s "Leading Hunter Sire" in the United States in 2001.

The "Keur" and "Preferent" dam Carole, by G. Ramiro Z, was selected as a three year old to the prestigious UTV show, at the time Netherland's mare championship. Ramiro passed away in 1995, but still is known as a foundation sire in both the dressage and jumper rings. He was Europe's "Stallion of the Year" in 1992. He currently stands second in the WBFSH jumper rankings. Ramiro was known as a power and speed jumper under the saddle of Fritz Ligges, and cleared a 2.20 meter (7'2") puissance wall with ease. Perhaps his best known daughter, Ratina Z, has properly been called "Mare of the Century."

Garole was one of Voltaire's earliest Keur daughters, and is still one of the KWPN's highest rated mares with an IBOP (i.e., performance test) score of 96 ("AA.") She scored 9's in her performance test for trot, canter, jumping and character, and scored nothing less than an eight in her other scores. She took seventh place as a four year old in the PAVO Cup for jumpers, and was trained in Holland to 4th level in dressage. She has also placed in the ribbons in the hunters at the HITS with Brenda.

Garole's first foal was awarded "Keur" as a four year old, and she has also placed a colt in the NAWPN's "Top Ten."
