"Nikki" is by the Preferent "Eurostallion" Ramiro whose bloodlines have been accepted into virtually every warmblood studbook in the world. He is ranked number two as a jumper sire by the WBFSH, based on the performance records of his offspring. His best known daughter, Ratina Z, took both a silver and gold medal at the Barcelona Olympics, and followed this the next year with a first place showing in the Volvo World Cup Finals.

Nikki's damline, "fokfam" (breeding family) 356, stretches back over 60 years to the Gelders mare Germa, a progenitor of numerous Crown and Prestatie mares, as well as the approved stallions Gentiaan and Mont Blanc. This line was liberally bred to thoroughbred sport upgraders such as those found in Nikki's background, Exkurs xx and Talisman xx.

Nikki was selected as a finalist for the prestigious UTV mare show in Holland, and received her "Keur" and "Elite" awards with high marks in jumping and character at her mare test. She continued her jumping career after being imported to the United States in 1998, and based on her show record in the United States, was awarded the "Sport" predicate as well. Nikki competed in Open Division and Grand Prix classes before heading back to her breeding duties. She is one of only a handful of Keur Sport breeding mares in the United States. Her first daughter, by the Selle Francais jumper sire Quat'Sous, is a highly regarded Keur mare standing in Holland. We were happy to see Nikki's first grandson by her Quat'Sous daughter at the stallion show in s'Hertogenbosch in February 2003. This son of the keur stallion Animo was sold in the prestigious VHO select sale to the well-known Dutch horseman Paul Hendrix.
